Our Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III Drophead Coupe is one of just 49 original RHD examples produced by H.J. MPW to design ‘2045’, it was ordered by F.H. Felton Esq. on the 3rd Nov 1964 and delivered by HR Owen of Mayfair on 19th February 1965. First registered as ‘CUU 80C’, the Cloud III was finished in Caribbean Blue with Beige Everflex hood, Beige Leather interior and Beige carpets, both the registration number and the colour scheme are retained today. The car changed hands in 1967 and, amazingly, was kept in the same ownership for over 57 years until we purchased it two years ago for our own collection. It was in continuous daily use from purchase in 1967 until the early 1980s, travelling over 80,000 miles, at which point a Camargue took over daily duties and it was retired to be used only on the grounds of Windlesham Arboretum to ferry important guests around.

Today, the car represents a rarity in the coachbuilt Rolls-Royce market, being kept in a lovely original condition and having never been ‘got at’ or restored, but simply used and maintained over its 61-year life. The history file is extensive, and dates all the way back to the early 1970s (not including all of the factory records), noting every service and bit of work that was carried out on the car while it was in daily use. We have recently had the car sympathetically recommissioned by top RR specialist English Automotive and the car now runs, drives and stops very nicely indeed. As always with any unrestored 60-year old car, there remain a few jobs that could be attended to and we would be happy to discuss this in detail with regards to the asking price.
