Porsche 928 S4

This Porsche 928 S4 is a nicely presented, UK-supplied example that has had over £10,500 spent on it over the last year to ensure it’s on the button and ready to go for the next owner. Importantly for a 928, the car has never been neglected or sat dormant for long periods. The previous owner kept the car for over 25 years and, judging by the history file, maintained it with no expense spared. The car will come with a fresh MOT for the new owner.

This 928 S4 was supplied by Ian Antony Porsche of Cheshire on 5th October 1988. It was specified in typical 80s fashion: a Guards Red exterior with a Black Leather interior and red piping. Other options specified were: Automatic Gearbox, Blaupunkt Toronto Radio, Lumbar Support on the Driver’s Seat, Top Tinted Windscreen, and the Metal Sliding Sunroof. As detailed in the original service book, the car was serviced by its supplying dealer for the first 3 years of its life, travelling over 51,000 miles in this short time. By the time the car was 10 years old at its 10th service, it had completed 96,800 miles. Since then, for the last 28 years, the car has averaged just 285 miles per year bringing the total mileage to 104,800 miles. 

Today, the car presents well with only a few age-related marks to be found on the body and no bubbling or corrosion. The car has had paint in a couple of places over the years, namely the bumpers, but it is of a good quality and not immediately obvious. As you may have noticed, it sits on a set of genuine GTS wheels in perfect condition, with brand new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres all round. The glass, rubbers, light lenses and other trims are also in excellent condition. The interior is totally original and in good condition too, the only wear we can find on the leather is the bolster on the driver’s side, as is normal for these. The dashboard is free from any cracks or warping, and the binnacle display functions as it should. The steering wheel has been changed for a genuine Porsche Sports version (the original is also included) and the radio has been upgraded to a new Blaupunkt Bremen (DAB & BT) to add modern usability with a period look. Unfortunately the sunroof is not currently working and we have yet to investigate it.

The history file that accompanies the 928 is fantastic, as you’d expect with such long previous ownership. Despite the modest mileage covered in the last 28 years, there has been a large amount of preventative maintenance and other expenditure to ensure the car is always ready to go. The most recent expenditure was with a Porsche specialist in summer 2025 which included major work to the fuelling and vacuum systems, as well as a new starter motor, knock sensors, battery, a full service and much more. The total invoice amount came to over £10,500, meaning the car now drives and performs exactly as it should, and gives perfect peace of mind to any future owner.
